Edip İplik was founded in 1971 in Istanbul by Akın Holding, Feza Holding and Çelebi Family in order to meet the increasing cotton yarn demand in the Turkish textile industry. 15% of the Company’s stocks are traded at the Istanbul Stock Exchange since the public offering in 1990.

In the first half of 2005 Edip İplik has constituted one enterprise of 57.720 m2 built on a 288.300 m2 estate by moving its Istanbul production plant to Lüleburgaz plant, which was established in 1998 as a second plant with an integrated co-generation system producing energy along with yarn production.

With 43.136 spindles, the company has a daily production capacity of 10 tons fiber dyed mélange yarn, 2.5 tons sewing thread, 2.5 tons coreyarn with elasthane and slub yarn as well as a daily twisting capacity of 10 tons raw yarn and 2.5 tons fancy yarns. With 15 tons/day dyeing capacity, the dye house of Edip İplik is one of the leading dye houses in Turkey.

Edip İplik, producing various kinds of single and multiple plied yarns spun from different fibers like cotton, polyester, acrylic, viscose, polyamide, wool, silk and their compositions, is serving to ready -to-wear market with its sewing threads, to flat and circular knitting, weaving and hosiery markets with its yarns. Over the past 30 years its expanding product range has placed the Company among the foremost manufacturers.

Believing that the company’s profit is directly related to the customer service quality, Edip İplik is equipped with the latest technology. This modern technology enables the increase in product variety. The Company’s highly experienced Quality Control Department maintains the continuity of quality in the products and the service. This quality policy is also documented with ISO 9001:2000, ECO-TEX certificates, both for yarns and sewing threads in addition to the Marks & Spencer accreditation.
After the offices and warehouse moved to its new place in Avcılar Ambarlı in year 2006, the real estate which included the old factory building has been sold to Edip Uluslararası Gayrimenkul ve Turizm A.Ş. and studies to develop new investments on this valuable property has started.
